SPRING GROVE – The annual steak fry dinner hosted by the Spring Grove Firefighters Association will benefit the Richmond-Spring Grove Food Pantry, which has outgrown its space in Memorial Hall and is looking to move to a new location.

Proceeds from the dinner, which will be held from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Spring Grove Horse Fair Park, will also go to Spring Grove Fire Explorer Post 1800, a program designed to teach teenagers and young adults about fire service career paths; and to the fire district's training budget.

The dinner will cost $16 and include steak, potatoes, sweet corn, coleslaw, a dinner roll and dessert. A chicken dinner will also be offered with the same sides.

A kid's hot dog meal, which is tentatively set to cost $6, will also be served.

While tickets for the dinner are not being presold, tickets for a money raffle with 20 prizes are. The top prize is $4,000.

Tickets are $100 each, and a set number of 225 tickets will be sold. They can be purchased by calling the association's president, Bob Stevens, at 815-388-2956.
