Storytelling festival set for Tuesday
ALGONQUIN – Storytellers and musicians are set to perform at an all-ages event at the Harnish Main Library special event tent, according to a news release.
Storytellers Megan Wells, Anne Shimojima, Chris Fascione and Paddy Lynn, and musicians Ed Hall, Dan "the Bard" Marcotte and Phil Passen, are scheduled to perform, the news release said.
Several of the performers have ties to the area.
According to the news release, Hall has performed during the Guitar Nights at the Woodstock Opera House since 1995 and recently received the McHenry County Music Center's 2014 Marie Ann Vos Music Leadership Award.
Wells has worked as an actress and director in Chicago for 15 years. She has appeared as a featured storyteller at the Illinois Storytelling Festival, Schaumburg Prairie Center, Sterling Festival, Chicago Wild Onion and on WBEZ, the news release said.
The program is free and is being offered in conjunction with the Lake in the Hills Parks and Recreation Department.
The storytelling festival will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Algonquin Area Library main branch at 2600 Harnish Drive.
