MOUNT MORRIS – The Ogle County Sheriff’s Department said two men have died after their motorcycles collided on a highway.

The sheriff’s office Monday identified the victims as 50-year old Michael Gonzalez of Chicago and 67-year-old Richard Zimmerman of Lanark. Officials say a woman riding on Gonzalez’s motorcycles also was seriously injured in the crash Sunday in northern Illinois. She was taken by helicopter to a Rockford medical center and officials said she was in critical condition.

The sheriff’s department said Zimmerman’s motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Illinois 64 when Gonzalez’s westbound motorcycle moved into the eastbound lane.

The men were pronounced dead at the scene.
