BARRINGTON – Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital has planned a free community health lecture on breast density, according to a news release.

The lecture is set to include discussions on MRIs and ultrasounds that can serve as supplemental screenings to mammograms.

Dr. Kevin Kirshenbaum, a radiologist, and Dr. Lisa Derken, a family physician, will discuss the importance of a patient’s options and how new laws with breast sonography can benefit women with dense breasts, the news release said.

To register for the lecture, call 800-323-8622 and include class code “3G23” or go to www.advocatehealth.com/gshp and click “I need a class or support group” and type in class code “3G23.”

The lecture is free and a light meal will be provided, the news release said.

The event is scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Garlands of Barrington at 1000 Garlands Lane.
