Chain O’ Lakes Brewing to celebrate ‘beer-iversary’

McHENRY – Chain O’ Lakes Brewing Co., 3425 Pearl St., McHenry, plans to mark its first year in business with a one year “beer-iversary” from 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 23.

The event will feature three Scotch ales on tap alongside offerings from two other local microbreweries, Scorched Earth Brewing Co. in Algonquin and Crystal Lake Brewing in Crystal Lake.

Separately, Crystal Lake Brewing, 150 N. Main St., announced on Facebook it would open Thursday.

The Chain O’ Lakes Brewing Co. event also will feature live music in its Bier Garden from Mississippi Stranglers and The Thompson Duo, a bags tournament, prizes and a peak at the establishment’s Prohibition-era tunnel. Family Affair will have a food truck at the event, according to a news release.
