County Workforce Network plans week of events

WOODSTOCK – The McHenry County Workforce Network will host four days of workforce development activities from Aug. 26-29.

All of the events will be held at the Workforce Center, 500 Russel Court, Woodstock.

A Manufacturers and Skills Fair will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 26. Five local plastics manufacturers are hiring through the hands-on skill fair. Instead of exchanging a résumé for a job posting, participants have the opportunity to show their skills and meet the hiring companies. Those interested can apply by completing a short online recruitment survey at blog.skillscout.me to ensure they meet minimum criteria.

A Reentry Workshop, for ex-offenders, will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 26. Sign up by calling 815-338-7100, ext. 228, or emailing mlwolff@co.mchenry.il.us.

An Educators Fair with training providers in attendance to share information about training programs for high-growth occupations will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 27. Visit www.mchenrycountyworkforce.com for information about the educators who will be attending.

Three Dress for Success presentations are planned for Aug. 28. Those who attend a session have a chance to take home clothing or to receive a voucher for clothing.
