PRAIRIE GROVE – Surveyors will be out on Justen Road next week as part of an engineering study for future bridge repairs, the village of Prairie Grove said in a Nixle alert.
The surveying is expected to last about three or four days, the alert said.
The village is in the first phase of engineering on the replacement or repair of the Justen Road bridge, which was declared by the Illinois Department of Transportation to be structurally deficient and functionally obsolete.
That means parts of it are in poor or worse condition and it no longer meets current design standards.
The engineering is being done by its contractual engineering firm, Baxter & Woodman, for $124,900.
The cost will be paid for using an 80-20 matching federal grant.
