JOHNSBURG – A pregnancy support center in Johnsburg is looking for volunteers to help train nurses in ultrasound scanning.

The volunteers would need to be in their first trimester or early in their second trimester of pregnancy. Training will take place at 1st Way Pregnancy Support Services throughout the summer and fall months under the supervision of registered ultrasound instructors.

The training will equip the nurses to perform ultrasound scans at the Johnsburg center, which purchased ultrasound equipment this year with the goal of offering free pregnancy confirmation scans to its clients.

“Ultrasound provides a window to the womb, hence empowering women through knowledge to make fully informed choices concerning their pregnancies,” 1st Way said in a news release.

Volunteers will receive the scans of their unborn children and will be entered into a drawing to win a gift basket filled with gift certificates.

For more information or to make an appointment, contact 1st Way at 815-385-2999.
