Swedish manufacturer expanding in Naperville

CHICAGO (AP) — A Swedish-based manufacturing company is expanding its operations in Chicago's western suburbs.

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn announced Monday that SKF Group chose a site in Naperville for its new research and development facility.

The company's expansion is expected to create 40 full-time jobs in two years and another 40 within four years.

The new 130,000-square-foot facility will be built in the Interstate 88 business corridor and will house engineers, scientists and administrative staff. The governor's office says a factor in the company's decision was a state incentive package worth an estimated $2.2 million over the next decade.

SKF, the manufacturer and supplier of ball and roller bearings, already employs close to 400 employees at locations in Elgin and Waukegan.
