A great start

To the Editor:

The St. Paul Diaper Bank started its New Mothers’ Program this month with great success.

We need to thank the McHenry County Community Foundation for awarding us the start-up funds to make it happen. Thanks to it, our classes are free to new and expecting moms.

Our first class was a delightful and educational time for moms. Two registered nurses lead the classes, and a useful array of subjects are slated to be presented. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions in a safe environment, receive diapers fortheir babies and use our growing new mom’s library when they attend.

The first class was truly a joy and a celebration. We’ll meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays at 1257 N. Green St. in McHenry. (That’s the Chamber of Commerce meeting room, and we also are grateful for the Chamber’s generosity in providing us space.)

New and expecting moms, let us know if you want to attend.

Remember, everyone else, we provide diapers to disabled children and adults, the elderly, and the sick, as well, and we are always in need of help.

The Rev. Phyllis Mueller
