A truck driver Friday morning was taken to the hospital after an incident that resulted in an overturned dump truck in unincorporated Woodstock.

At approximately 6:45 a.m. a white Santa Fe Hyundai turned left onto Charles Road at the intersection of Charles and Raffel Roads, McHenry County Sheriff's Office Deputy Aimee Knop said.

Driving behind the Hyundai, a 1991 Kenworth six-wheel dump truck hit the brakes and turned right to avoid a collision, but ended up overturning in a ditch, Knop added.

The sheriff's office responded as well as the Woodstock Fire Rescue District.

There was no contact between the two vehicles and no serious injuries were sustained, but the dump truck driver was taken to Centegra Hospital-Woodstock for precautionary reasons.

The driver of the Hyundai was cited for failure to yield the right of way at an intersection.
