18-year-old transported to hospital after Huntley crash

HUNTLEY – An 18-year-old driver on Tuesday was transported to Centegra Hospital-Woodstock after a two-car collision on Route 47, according to the Huntley Police Department.

The Huntley Police Department and the Huntley Fire Protection District responded around 10:30 a.m. for a crash on Route 47 near North Street, said Deputy Chief Mike Klunk.

Preliminary reports indicate an 18-year-old Lake in the Hills female in a Mitsubishi Eclipse attempted a left turn from North Street onto northbound Route 47. Her vehicle was then struck by a southbound Ford E350, driven by a 42-year-old Spring Grove man, according to an email from Klunk.

The man was evaluated on scene and declined further treatment. The woman was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Route 47 was diverted to one lane in each direction for about 45 minutes until both vehicles were towed away.

The crash is still under investigation.
