Golf Roundup: Wick leads Marengo boys to triangular win

Ryan Wick shot a 2-over-par 38 to take medalist honors and lead Marengo to the nonconference triangular win over Marian Central and Belvidere North at Timber Pointe Golf Course in Poplar Grove. 

The Indians (2-0) finished with a team score of 166, eight shots ahead of their competitors who tied at 174. The Hurricanes claimed second with a better fifth-place score. 

Wick won medalist honors for the second-straight day, and Hunter Simonini was second on the team with a 40. Marian Central was led by Edward Salvador who shot a 40. 

Sandwich Invite: At Edgebrook Golf Course in Sandwich, Richmond-Burton shot a team score of 318 to win the 16-team tournament hosted by Aurora Central Catholic. 

Jordan Hahn took home medalist honors shooting a 2-under-par 70 to lead the Rockets. Joey Pegura was third overall and second on the team with a 77. ACC finished in second place with a 324. 

GIRLS GOLF

McHenry 194, Johnsburg 221: At Boone Creek Golf Club in Bull Valley, Maddie Ogden and Abby Ross each shot 45 to share medalist honors and lead the Warriors (1-0) to the nonconference win. 

Madelyn Schroeder led the Skyhawks (1-1) with a 50 and Emma Johnson added a 54.
