HARVARD – Republican candidate Steve Reick is kicking off a town hall tour throughout the 63rd House District.

Reick is holding the first stop of what he calls his "I'll Shut Up and Listen" tour from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Harvard Diggins Library, 900 E. McKinley St. The locations of the other dates leading up to the Nov. 4 election have yet to be announced.

"I want to give the people of McHenry County the chance to make their concerns known, and discuss with them new ideas and approaches to return this state and this district back to prosperity. It has to begin here," Reick said in a news release.

Reick, of Harvard, is running against longtime Democratic incumbent Jack Franks, of Marengo, who has represented the district since 1999.

The 63rd District covers much of western and northern McHenry County and includes all or parts of Harvard, Hebron, Marengo, Woodstock, Wonder Lake, McHenry and Johnsburg.
