Cary accepting applications for Citizen's Police Academy

CARY – The Cary Police Department is accepting applications for its next Citizen Police Academy.

Classes are scheduled for Wednesday evenings from Sept. 10 through Nov. 12. A graduation ceremony is set for the Nov. 18 Village Board meeting.

People interested in attending should complete an application and return it to Sgt. Scott Naydenoff at the Cary Police Department, 654 Village Hall Drive, Cary, IL 60013.

Applications also may be dropped off at the Records Department in the lobby of the department from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Citizen Police Academy will include discussion on topics such as department organization and structure, patrol functions, the criminal investigations division, communications, K‐9, firearms, criminal street gangs and narcotics. Instructors will include officers, detectives, supervisors and police department administrators.
