ELGIN – U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren will host a leadership forum on health care at Elgin Community College on Thursday to address the challenges of an “extremely complex” system.

Hultgren, R-Winfield, will be joined by community leaders and health care officials during the event designed to give residents updated and relevant information to make the best health care choices.

Hultgren said in a news release the forum would be similar to the events he held on the heroin epidemic and the Common Core transition in education.

“Consumers are facing rising costs and fewer options, and can’t predict with any certainty how upcoming changes in the president’s health care law will affect them,” Hultgren said. “My goal is for everyone to walk away with new ideas for solutions to improve health care delivery, access and care.”

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Seigle Auditorium in Building E on the campus at 1700 Spartan Drive in Elgin. The forum also will include three expert panels making presentations.
