RICHMOND – An 11-year-old girl was taken to the hospital Tuesday night after a two-vehicle crash at a Richmond intersection, fire officials said.

The crash occurred around 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of Route 173 and Lakeview Road, according to Richmond Fire Chief Rick Gallas.

Three people, two drivers and one passenger, were checked out on the scene while the 11-year-old was transported to Centegra Hospital – McHenry for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Eastbound and westbound traffic on Route 173 was backed up for the 45 minutes it took to clear the scene, as was southbound traffic on Lakeview Road, Gallas said.

Assisting the Richmond Fire Department was the Spring Grove Fire Protection District.
