Algonquin planning Harvest Hustle 5K Run/Walk

ALGONQUIN – The Algonquin Recreation Department has planned its second annual Harvest Hustle 5K run/walk for Oct. 11.

The race will feature a professionally timed 3.2 mile run and a 1.5 mile walk course throughout the downtown area, according to a news release. The race will start at 8 a.m. at Historic Village Hall, 2 S. Main St.

Those participants who register before the day of the race will receive a T-shirt for the event, the village said. Registration will also be available race day prior to the start.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the village's scholarship program, "Recreation for All-gonquin.” This program is designed to help area youngsters participate in recreation programs offered by the village at a discounted rate, the village said.

Registration for the race is $20 per walker and $25 per runner. To register or to learn more about the event information go to www.algonquin.org/recreation or the Ganek Municipal Center, at 2200 Harnish Drive.
