Alejandro Miranda and Edder Tapia each scored two goals for Woodstock North in a 7-1 tournament win against St. Patrick on Tuesday at the Cougar Classic in Vernon Hills.

Also scoring for the Thunder (1-2) were Luis Balleno on an assist from Zach Schmidt and Mauricio Villanueva and Alfredo Balleno, both on assists from Esteban Albarran.

Mateo Garcia made 15 saves in goal for Woodstock North.

Huntley 1, Boylan 1: At Rockford, Travis Walsh scored for the Red Raiders in a nonconference match.

Woodstock 3, Rockford East 0: At Woodstock, the Blue Streaks (1-0) won their first game of the season in nonconference play. Jose Gonzalez, Matt Shook and Caleb Schroeder scored for Woodstock and Jose Guardado made five saves.

The Blue Streaks did lose junior forward Julio Arias just 15 minutes into the game after he made head-on-head contact with his teammate Shook. Arias had a laceration above his left eye that required stitches. Woodstock coach Mike Golda hopes to have Arias back sometime next week.
