McHENRY – Centegra Health System is moving all newborn deliveries to Centegra Hospital – McHenry starting at 7 a.m. Sept. 13.

Obstetricians are instructing their patients to go to Centegra Hospital – McHenry when they are in labor.

“For many months we have planned to centralize inpatient obstetrics services,” said Rachel Sebastian, vice president and site administrator at Centegra Hospital – McHenry.

In addition to renovated private rooms, the Family Birth Center now has a second Cesarean-section suite. Centegra also has added wellness and amenity services to the experience such as bedside spa treatments and robes. Mothers also will get a bath and body gift set, a quilted cooler for milk storage and a meal to take home, according to a news release.

Outpatient obstetrics services still will be available at locations throughout McHenry County. Centegra Physician Care obstetricians and midwives will continue to see patients in Woodstock, Huntley, Crystal Lake and McHenry. Women also will still receive support at the Centegra Breastfeeding Resource Center locations in Woodstock and McHenry.
