Johnsburg 5K to support Illinois Special Olympics

JOHNSBURG – Proceeds from an upcoming 5K run and walk will support the Illinois Special Olympics.

This is the Johnsburg Police Department’s fourth time hosting the “Hometown with a Spirit” event.

The cost to participate is $20 for adults and $13 for children.

The 5K will kick off at 9 a.m. Sept. 6 at the Johnsburg Community Club, 2315 W. Church St., and snake through town, passing through the newly completed Johnsburg Road roundabout and the Sunnyside and Shiloh Ridge subdivisions. It will end at the Johnsburg Rescue Squad Memorial Park.

Refreshments and a light snack will be supplied at the finish line.

Medals will be presented to the top finishers in each age group with every participant eligible for a ribbon and a chance to win raffle prizes.
