Life after 50

To the Editor:

The “Looking Forward: Life After 50” insert in the Sunday Northwest Herald was an insult.

Are you kidding me? Prefunded funerals? Hospice care? All the insert consisted of were advertisements for assisted living centers and home health care.

Is this really how you see 50-year-olds? Come to Health Bridge Fitness Center some morning at 5 a.m. and ask how many are looking into assisted living facilities. If we’re not going to work, we certainly are planning more fun things than our funerals.

If that’s all McHenry County has to offer, maybe we 50-year-olds better start planning a move.
