Iowa casino trip to raise money for McHenry County veteran-centric nonprofit

McHENRY – A two-night casino trip will raise money for Freedom Branches, a local nonprofit focused on taking veterans to see the memorials in Washington, D.C.

The bus will leave at 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, from a to-be-determined spot in McHenry and head toward Meskwaki Casino and Hotel, the Midwest's largest casino. Along the drive to Tama, Iowa, participants can win raffles and prizes.

Saturday will offer a trip to Amana Colonies in Amana, Iowa, a collection of seven villages filled with restaurants, artisans and specal events.

On Sunday, participants will head to Riverside Casino in Riverside, Iowa. The bus will return to McHenry by 8:30 Sunday.

The cost is $200 per person, and includes round-trip, deluxe motorcoach transportation, two night’s lodging in double occupancy rooms, $60 on a player's card at Meskwaki and $15 in vouchers to be used at any of the food gift shop or spa, and $10 on a player's card at Riverside and $5 buffet voucher.
