Prep golf roundup: Richmond-Burton boys edge Marengo, stay unbeaten

The Richmond-Burton boys golf team remained undefeated on the season Wednesday with a 162-166 win over Marengo in Big Northern Conference East Division play at Nippersink in Genoa City, Wisconsin. 

Jordan Hahn took home medalist honors, shooting an even-par 35. Joey Pegura and Andrew DeZanek each shot 42 for the Rockets (6-0 overall, 2-0 BNC East). 

The loss was the first of the season for the Indians (4-1, 1-1 BNC East). Ryan Wick shot a 38 to lead Marengo, and Hunter Simonini added a 40. 

Harvard Quad: At Oak Grove in Harvard, Marian Central finished third with a score of 186, and Harvard was a shot back in fourth. The Hurricanes were led by Kyler Hardie with a 45. Tyler Garafol tied for second overall with a 37 for the Hornets. Burlington Central won on fifth-player score with a 168. 

McHenry 153, Johnsburg 191: At Nippersink in Genoa City, Wisconsin, Cameron Justen and AJ Folino each shot a 1-over par 37 to share medalist honors in the Warriors win. 

Grant Fisher led the Skyhawks with a 41. 


Crystal Lake Central co-op 172, Huntley 191: At Turnberry in Lakewood, Larisa Luloff shot a 39 to take medalist honors and lead the Tigers (3-0, 2-0 FVC) to the FVC win. Emily Jean was one shot back for Central with a 40.

The Red Raiders (2-1, 1-1 FVC) were led by Gillian Young, who shot a 45. 

McHenry 187, Dundee-Crown 236: At Boone Creek, Maddie Ogden took home medalist honors, shooting a 44 for the Warriors in their FVC win. Abby Ross was second on the team with a 46.

Kylie Kost led the Chargers with a 48. 

Richmond-Burton 190, Marengo 245: At Nippersink in Genoa City, Wisconsin, Mackenzie Hahn shot a 46 to take medalist honors and lead the Rockets (4-1, 2-0 BNC) to the conference win. Emily Fox was second on the team with a 47. The Rockets won without No. 1 golfer Blake Betke, who was out with an injury.

Monica Millard led Marengo with a 56. 

Jacobs 203, Prairie Ridge 207: At Randall Oaks in West Dundee, the Golden Eagles (1-1) won in FVC play. Stephanie Fiorentino claimed medalist honors with a 44 and Sydney Goll added a 49.

Erin Wing led the Wolves with a 45. 

Marian Central 177, St. Viator 227: At Booke Creek in Bull Valley, Sophia Archos and Kenzie Mocogni each shot 41 to lead the Hurricanes to the East Suburban Catholic Conference victory. 

Burlington Central 188, Rockford Lutheran 191, Harvard 243: At Beaver Creek in Capron, Harvard finished in third at the triangular. Kayleigh Isonhart led the Hornets with a 46.
