2 taken to hospital after Port Barrington-area crash

PORT BARRINGTON – Two people went to two different hospitals Tuesday with injuries considered not life-threatening after a crash in the Port Barrington area, fire officials said.

The Wauconda Fire District responded about 7 p.m. to a crash in the 700 block of Rawson Bridge Road, Lt. Pat Kane said.

"It was pretty much a head-on collision," Kane said.

There were two vehicles and three people involved, he added.

A male passenger went to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, a woman was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, and the third person involved indicated he was OK at the scene.

Kane said the Cary Fire Protection District provided a second ambulance to transport the woman.

Further information about the crash was not available. Calls to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office were not immediately returned Tuesday night.
