Woman ejected from Jeep after Crystal Lake crash

CRYSTAL LAKE – A head-on crash in Crystal Lake sent one woman to an area hospital after she was ejected from one of the two involved vehicles, fire officials said Friday night.

The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department was dispatched at 6:42 p.m. for a reported crash with ejection at Routes 31 and 176, Battalion Chief William Whyte said.

The woman was one of five people involved in the crash, but the only one transported. She went to Centegra Hospital – McHenry with injuries not considered life-threatening, Whyte said.

She was ejected from the back window of a soft-top Jeep because of the force of the crash, he said.

The Crystal Lake Police Department also responded to the scene, but did not immediately return calls for comment.
