Coroner: Woman died of sharp, blunt force injuries to neck

McHENRY — A 30-year-old McHenry man was charged Tuesday with two counts of first-degree murder after he allegedly stabbed and killed a woman who was found in their McHenry home Monday, police said.

Anthony Harrison was charged with killing Laura K. Harrison, 30, on Monday, McHenry Deputy Police Chief John Birk said.

McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski said Harrison died from sharp and blunt force injuries to her neck. Police say Anthony Harrison stabbed the victim in the neck with a knife.

Police said they responded to the residence at 4316 W. Parkway Ave. at 8:53 a.m. Monday for a report of a medical emergency.

Officers found Anthony Harrison, who was treated for his injuries at the scene and airlifted to Condell Hospital in Libertyville.

Police searched the home and found Laura Harrison deceased inside the home. Following an investigation by the McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team and an autopsy, Anthony Harrison was charged with two counts of first degree murder.

Anthony Harrison's bond was set at $3 million, and his next court date is July 6. He has been under police supervision at Condell Hospital since the incident, and upon his release, he will be transported to McHenry County Jail, police said.

McHenry police are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 815-363-2599 or the anonymous tip line at 815-363-2124.

According to court records, Anthony Harrison was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery in December.
