Route 173 crash near Richmond sends 4 to hospital, 1 in critical condition, fire official says

RICHMOND – A serious crash on Route 173 between Hebron and Richmond left four injured and at least one in critical condition Saturday, according to the Richmond Fire Department.

Three people that were involved in the crash were transported by ambulance to Centegra Hospital – McHenry with undisclosed injuries. A fourth person considered to be in critical condition was flown by Flight for Life to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Richmond Fire Lt. Rusty Mundorf said.

The crash near Route 173 and Keystone Road caused police to close Route 173 and Keystone Road for several hours. The Richmond Fire Department said the crash involved a car and a milk truck.

Fire departments from Richmond, Hebron-Alden-Greenwood and Wonder Lake were on the scene.
