Hanlon smashed a team-high eight kills and added three blocks to lead the Hurricanes to a 25-16, 25-20 sweep over Rosary in the Class 3A Marian Central Supersectional, sending Marian back to the Class 3A state semifinals for the second straight season.

Hanlon is second on the team with 264 kills.

"Her jump and her ability to hit it over and around the block is so immensely huge on that side," Hurricanes coach Laura Watling said. "When she can get full extension on her swing, it makes her very difficult to block.

"The numbers she's put up over the last three years as a right side ... there's no one else I've coached that's come even close."
