Illinois Supreme Court allows vacancy on McHenry County bench to be filled

WOODSTOCK – The Illinois Supreme Court authorized McHenry County’s 22nd Judicial Court to post an opening for an associate judge.

The vacancy comes from the retirement of Judge Maureen McIntyre, who will step down at the end of the year. The Illinois high court has promoted Judge Robert Wilbrandt to fill McIntyre’s circuit court judgeship effective Jan. 3, 2017.

Applications for the opening are being accepted and attorneys seeking the appointment must be U.S. citizens, licensed to practice law in Illinois and residents of the 22nd Judicial Circuit.

Two signed applications must be filed with Michael J. Tardy, Director, Administrative Office of the Illinois Supreme Courts, 3101 Old Jacksonville Road, Springfield, IL 62704-6488.

Applications must be received by the Administrative Office by 5 p.m. Dec. 9 if delivered by hand and 11:59 p.m. if filed electronically. The application can be obtained from the Office of Chief Judge at the McHenry County Government Center, 2200 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, or the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts.

Applications also can be downloaded from the Illinois Supreme Court website at www.illinoiscourts.gov. Applications cannot be submitted via fax.
