McHENRY – Medela on Tuesday launched Sonata, the first smart breast pump to offer hospital-level performance in a personal-use breast pump, according to a news release.
Sonata, weighing about 2 pounds, is the company’s quietest breast pump, and it connects to the app MyMedela to track sessions and babies’ activities, as well as provide support and expert tips. It also uses Responsive Pump Technology, which uses sensors to detect changes in the mother’s body or her environment.
“We’ve spent the past four years researching, listening to moms and building what moms said they need to be successful,” said Melissa Gonzales, managing director of Medela USA.
