Letter: Wrong on McHenry Township

Published: Monday, March 20, 2017 10:09 a.m. CDT

This letter is in response to Mr. Mayer’s recent letter criticizing the independent candidates for McHenry Township.

Apparently, Mr. Mayer is unaware of the antics the pretend McHenry Township Republican Party has been up to. That’s right, the caucus with committeemen weighted votes with the sole purpose of taking away the vote of the average Republican voter.

Then, the objections by pretend Republican candidates against all other candidates both Democratic and independent for township positions. This is costing the township more than $15,000 in legal fees. Then, to have them withdraw the objections once they realized they couldn’t force their will on the voters.

These actions speak very loudly. “The Magnificent Seven” pretend Republicans are afraid to let the voters decide who should be elected to the township positions. Simple soluton – vote independent this time.
