Woodstock Police Department arrests two in connection with car burglaries

WOODSTOCK – The Woodstock Police Department has arrested two men in connection with car burglaries and a report of a stolen vehicle.

Maurice C. Timberlake, 18, and Monteze M. Moses, 22, both of Woodstock, are being held at the McHenry County Jail.

Police responded March 9 and 10 to multiple reports of car burglaries.

The department identified two suspects and worked with the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office to charge the men.

Police arrested Timberlake on Thursday, and he was charged with one count of possession of a stolen vehicle, a Class 2 felony. If convicted, he could face three to seven years in prison.

Moses was charged Monday with two counts of burglary, a Class 2 felony, and one count of criminal trespass to a motor vehicle, a Class A misdemeanor. If convicted of the most serious charge, he could face three to seven years in prison.

Timberlake’s bond has been set at $50,000, and he is expected to be in court at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Moses’ bond has been set at $82,500, and his court date had not been set as of Monday night.
