Investigation continues after woman shot in arm

OAKWOOD HILLS – The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office is reviewing a domestic incident in Oakwood Hills after police said a woman was shot in the arm.

Members of the Oakwood Hills Police Department and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded about 1:32 a.m. Saturday to the 5500 block of Greenview Road for the report of a person who was shot, police said.

A preliminary investigation found that there was a domestic dispute between a man and woman involving alcohol and at least one shot was fired, Oakwood Hills Police Chief Valiza Nash said.

No charges had been filed as of Monday. Assistant State’s Attorney John Gibbons, who is chief of the Criminal Division, declined to comment on the matter.

The woman was shot in one arm and taken to Centegra Hospital – McHenry. She was later taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge in critical but stable condition, Nash said.

Police took two guns from the house. Nash said officers had not previously been called to the house for domestic incidents.
