High school boys lacrosse: Cary-Grove overcomes slow start to defeat Huntley

Gavin Hughes scored a team-high four goals to lead a comeback for Cary-Grove on Tuesday in a 15-5 Fox Valley Conference win against Huntley in Cary.

The Trojans trailed 4-1 after the first quarter and scored four in the second to take a 5-4 lead. Huntley scored the only goal in the third, and C-G went on to score 10 goals in the fourth for the victory.

Alex Becker, Zach Perrone, and Jake Baird scored two goals apiece for C-G, and Ty Forney, Philippe Chouinard, Steven Soli, Peyton Teer and Brian Rathje all scored once.

Blake Nolan stopped 14 of 19 shots for the Trojans (8-3, 5-2), while Forney, Soli and Baird added two assists each.
