Huntley's Jeff Heinrich was 2 for 3 Wednesday with a home run, double, two runs scored and three RBIs for the Red Raiders in a 14-2 Fox Valley Conference baseball win in five innings against Prairie Ridge in Crystal Lake.
Joe Rizzo went 2 for 4 with three RBIs, Adam Smylie drove in three runs, and Noah Konie went 1 for 2 with two RBIs for Huntley (27-5, 19-3). Brad Model went 2 for 3 with three runs scored, Brad Maurer had a homer and drove in a run, Joe Boland was 2 for 3 with a double and two runs, and Jordan Goldstein scored two runs.
Keegan Garcelon earned the win in relief for the Raiders, throwing 2 2/3 shutout innings with no hits, no walks and four strikeouts. Ryan Schmit took the loss for the Wolves (11-20, 6-16), allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits in an inning with two strikeouts.
Schmit drove in a run, Colin Lamb was 1 for 3 with a steal and a run, Roth Mizell had a double, and Zach Teegan had a walk and two stolen bases in the loss.
Dundee-Crown 10, Jacobs 3: At Carpentersville, Scott Wojcik was 3 for 4 with two home runs, two runs scored and three RBIs for the Chargers (14-15, 8-14) in an FVC win. Ryan Denz was 3 for 4 with three steals and five RBIs, Jack Waldron finished 2 for 2, and Brett Buske was 1 for 3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.
Conor Ryan had a double and a run and earned the win for D-C. He gave up three runs on five hits in four innings with four strikeouts and three walks. Buske picked up a three-inning save, allowing a hit with two strikeouts and a walk.
Mike Addante was 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI for Jacobs (16-17, 7-15), Bryce Vincent (1 for 2) drove in a run, and Cory Dennison went 1 for 3 with a run scored. Brad Demkovich took the loss, allowing seven runs (three earned) on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings with four strikeouts.
Carmel 9, Marian Central 8 (8 inn.): At Woodstock, Marian Central had an 8-4 lead going into the top of the seventh, but Carmel scored four runs to force extras and pull out the win in East Suburban Catholic Conference action.
Jack Schneider went 4 for 4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored for Marian (6-18, 2-14), James Raffauf was 1 for 3 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored, and Harry Beck and Matt Schneider each had a hit and a run scored in the loss.
Jack Schneider started and lasted five innings. He allowed two runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and three walks.
Woodstock 11, Marengo 1 (6 inn.): At Marengo, the Blue Streaks (19-10, 9-7) scored six runs in the sixth to pull away from the Indians (8-21, 3-13) in Kishwaukee River Conference action.
Joey Brown went 1 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs, Jacob Sumner was 2 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs, and Blake Waterson was 1 for 2 and drove in a pair of runs. Josh Turner was 2 for 3 with two runs, Evan Bridges was 2 for 4, and Evan Geske and Tyler Peake each had a double and a run scored.
John Kubacha picked up the win and allowed one unearned run on five hits in six innings. He struck out eight and walked none in the complete-game victory. Jake LaSota went 2 for 3 with a double for Marengo, and Jarrett Burno (run scored), Brayden Quick and John Henning each went 1 for 3.
Burlington Central 13, Harvard 0 (5 inn.): At Harvard, Burlington Central (24-9, 13-4) pounded out 19 hits in a KRC win against the Hornets (5-19, 1-16). Ryan Stephens and Zach Froelich had the only two hits for Harvard against Josh Noeska, who struck out six and walked two.
Johnsburg 4, Woodstock North 4 (suspended): At Woodstock, the KRC game between the Skyhawks (16-13, 13-3) and the Thunder (15-12, 9-7) was suspended because of darkness in the ninth inning.
The two teams will play Thursday's originally scheduled game at 4:30 p.m. at Tigers Field in Johnsburg. If time allows, they'll resume Wednesday's game afterwards. If not they will finish the suspended game on Friday at Woodstock North.
