High school girls soccer roundup: Crystal Lake Central among 3 locals to fall in regional semifinals

Crystal Lake Central led at halftime against Antioch Wednesday but fell behind in the second half and lost to the Sequoits, 3-2, in a Class 2A Antioch Regional girls soccer semifinal in Antioch.

Ella Roberts scored the opening goal for Antioch before Crystal Lake Central junior Elise Olson scored the next two goals to give the ninth-seeded Tigers a 2-1 lead at the break.

Karly Monaco scored on a penalty kick to tie the game at 2-all in the second half, and Gabby Michaels later scored the game winner to send the No. 7-seeded Sequoits into Saturday's regional championship against Wauconda.

Crystal Lake Central ends the season at 7-10-1.

Class 2A Woodstock North Regional: At Woodstock, third-seeded Rockford Boylan defeated fifth-seeded Woodstock, 2-0, to advance to Saturday's regional final against Freeport.

The Blue Streaks finished the season at 13-8.

Class 2A Burlington Central Regional: At Burlington, No. 3-seeded Dixon shut out seventh-seeded Hampshire, 2-0, in the regional semifinals to advance to Friday's regional final against Burlington Central.

Hampshire finished the season at 2-16-4. Burlington Central defeated Illinois Math and Science Academy, 11-0, in the first semifinal.
