High school softball roundup: Jacobs hits 3 home runs in nonconference win

Jacobs hit three home runs in a 12-6 win over South Elgin on Thursday in Algonquin. Grace O’Malley, Emily Pena and Savannah Svedman each hit a home run. 

Alexis Addante, Kerri Healy and Gaby Silva each hit doubles. Silva went 2 for 4 with two RBIs. Svedman went 2 for 4 with three RBIs. 

Svedman also pitched seven innings. She allowed eight hits, six runs, three earned. Svedman struck out six and walked one. 

Prairie Ridge 5, Warren 3: In Crystal Lake, Hailey Baker carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning in a win over Warren. Baker gave up three hits and three earned runs in the final inning. She struck out nine and did not walk any batters in the game.

Maddie Schillinger went 2 for 3 with two runs scored. Kaleigh O’Brien went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs. Shannon Donaldson went 2 for 3 with two runs scored for the Wolves (23-6). 

Crystal Lake South 14, Streamwood 0 (5 inn.): In Crystal Lake, Christina Toniolo hit a home run and Emily Sulikowski smacked two doubles in a win over Streamwood. Sulikowski finished 3 for 4 with four RBIs. Toniolo was 2 for 3 with two RBIs. 

Sam Schettl and Carly Chovanec also hit doubles in the game. Chloe Skorija pitched four innings, allowing three hits and striking out four. Lauren Schoen finished off the final inning for the Gators (16-13, 8-9). She struck out one and did not allow a hit.

Marengo 15, Genoa-Kingston 5 (5 inn.): At Marengo, Mariah Dionne hit two home runs and a double in a nonconference win over Genoa-Kingston. Dionne finished with five RBIs for the Indians (26-6). 

Seven different Indians hitters recorded doubles in the game. Hannah Ritter went 3 for 3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Riley Connell pitched all five innings. She allowed eight hits, five runs, four of them earned. Connell struck out two and walked none. 

Woodstock North 12, Harvard 1 (5 inn.): In Woodstock, Savannah Adcock went 2 for 2 with a double and two RBIs for the Blue Streaks in a win over Harvard. Abby Hartmann went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI. 

Amaya Saldana hit a triple and scored a run. In the circle, Maddie Rank threw all five innings, allowing six hits and one unearned run. Rank struck out six for the Thunder (12-13, 7-5 KRC). 

For Harvard (2-22, 0-12), Macy Witz went 2 for 3. Arely Renteria went 1 for 2 with a double. Allison Musgrove pitched all four innings in the loss. 

Burlington Central 2, Johnsburg 1: At Burlington, Johnsburg’s Emily Owen pitched six innings in a loss to Burlington Central, allowing only two earned runs. Owen struck out three and walked one. 

Haley Erickson went 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI. Tess Wright drew a walk and scored the only run for the Skyhawks (10-17, 4-7 KRC).
