11-year-old Woodstock boy faces sexual assault charges

WOODSTOCK – An 11-year-old Woodstock boy faces sexual assault charges after being accused of assaulting a younger child.

The boy was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and two counts of criminal sexual abuse to a person between ages 9 and 17, the Woodstock Police Department said.

Deputy Police Chief Jeff Parsons said there were two reported incidents in two different homes. The victim, who is younger than age 10, does not live with the alleged offender, Parsons said.

A family member reported the matter to police, he said.

The boy has been released to his parents. He will appear in juvenile court. His court date has not been set.

The boy’s name was not released because of his age.
