Huntley was given the Northwest Herald All-Sports Award at the Herald’s Most Valuable Athletes Celebration on June 6 at Cary-Grove High School. The traveling trophy is awarded to the FVC school with the best overall boys and girls sports for the school year. The 16 sports that count toward the standings are those where all nine member schools compete.
The Raiders finished with 109.5 points (based on where each team finished in the FVC in each sport), with Cary-Grove taking second with 97. Huntley held a slim lead of 62.5 to 61.5 over C-G heading into the six spring sports. Huntley won FVC titles in baseball and softball along with boys and girls track and field to clinch the trophy for the second time.
