CARY – Cary Community Consolidated School District 26 will be offering an At-risk Preschool Program at Briargate Elementary School in the upcoming school year.
The preschool’s goal is to provide at-risk students with a positive, nurturing environment that promotes emotional, cognitive, physical and social growth and development, according to a news release from District 26.
The program is open to Cary children ages 3 to 5 who qualify based on factors that include economic need, low performance on screening, health concerns or speaking a primary language other than English.
A morning and evening session will be offered at Briargate, 100 Wulff St., Cary. Both sessions will be held on weekdays and should last 2½ hours each day.
The program is free of charge for those who qualify.
To determine which students are eligible for the program, students are required to participate in an at-risk preschool screening, which will be held Aug. 10 at Living Grace Community Church, 1500 Silver Lake Road, Cary. The screening is free, and participants must set up an appointment.
To schedule a screening appointment, call Briargate Elementary School at 224-357-5250.
