LAKE IN THE HILLS – A two-story home in Lake in the Hills was left uninhabitable after a garage fire early Wednesday, a fire official said.
The Huntley Fire Protection District was dispatched at 3:54 a.m. to the home on Farmington Court, west of Rolling Hills Drive, Huntley Fire Chief Ken Caudle said. The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes after crews arrived.
The fire damage was contained to the attached garage, but the house sustained smoke and water damage, Caudle said.
The three residents of the home and the family dog escaped with no injuries, Caudle said.
Caudle said there is no fire damage estimate at this time, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Huntley fire personnel was assisted by the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District, Woodstock Fire Rescue District, Rutland-Dundee Fire Protection District and Fox River Grove Fire Protection District.
