The proclamation on Tuesday’s agenda will honor city and county first responders, as well as four residents who risked their lives to rescue neighbors trapped in a burning home.
The explosion in the early morning hours of June 11 destroyed two homes and damaged 50 others, but resulted in no lost lives.
Two other proclamations will honor the Crystal Lake South High School Gators baseball team for winning the Class 4A state championship, and the Marengo Community High School Indians softball team for winning the Class 3A state championship.
Tuesday’s agenda also will include approving an agreement with the McHenry County Conservation District to complete the final portion of the Ridgefield Trace bicycle and jogging path that will connect Walkup Road in Crystal Lake with Route 47 in Woodstock.
The meeting will be the first for new board member Christopher Spoerl, who was appointed last week to fill out the remaining year and a half of former member Andrew Gasser’s term.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the county Administration Building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock, and will be audio streamed live at www.co.mchenry.il.us.
