Huntley senior right-handed pitcher and third baseman Nick Laxner committed to play college ball at Division I Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Laxner announced his commitment Sunday on Twitter.

The 6-foot-1, 160-pound righty helped Huntley to a Fox Valley Conference title this season as a junior. Laxner was a Northwest Herald All-Area honorable mention as a pitcher in the spring.

In the Red Raiders’ regional championship victory over Harlem, Laxner tossed a one-hit shutout, striking out six and walking one.

Miami competes in the Mid-American Conference and is coached by Danny Hayden.
