Johnsburg hires softball, wrestling, boys soccer coaches

Johnsburg athletics announced new varsity coaches in softball, wrestling and boys soccer Thursday.

Jamie Smiegh has been hired as softball coach, replacing Ted Juske, who became Johnsburg athletic director after Tom Ross left for the same position at Grant.

Mike Miller is the new wrestling coach. Miller replaces Todd Ramberg, who coached the Johnsburg wrestlers for one season.

Adam Bronars will be the boys soccer coach this fall. Bronars replaces Rob Eastland, who served as Skyhawks boys soccer coach for 19 season. Juske said Bronars is only the boys soccer coach. The girls soccer position remains open.

Eastland stepped down from both soccer positions after the conclusion of the girls season this spring. He coached the Skyhawks girls soccer team for five seasons, including a third-place finish in the IHSA Class 1A state tournament this spring and a fourth-place finish in 2013. Eastland was the Northwest Herald Girls Soccer Coach of the Year this spring.
