SPRING GROVE – A Spring Grove teen wanted on residential burglary and drug charges was arrested this week after he was found hiding in a storage closet in his home.
Devyn D. Cedzidlo, 19, of the 9700 block of Bonner Lane, was wanted on a $150,000 felony warrant out of Round Lake Beach in connection with residential burglary and a $100,000 failure to appear arrest warrant for a possession of a controlled substance charge based on a Lindenhurst police investigation, according to a Lake County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team, the U.S. Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force and Spring Grove police assisted in the arrest.
Members of the sheriff’s warrants team began their search in June, and they found out Cedzidlo fled from Illinois to Iowa. Authorities learned Wednesday that Cedzidlo likely was back home at his Bonner Lane residence, and officers found him at his home the next day, according to the release.
When Cedzidlo saw officers approaching his house, he went to the basement and locked himself inside a storage closet, according to the release. Police broke through the door and arrested Cedzidlo without further incident.
Cedzidlo was taken to the Lake County Jail, where he remains on $250,000 bond. He will appear in court Aug. 11.
