Prairie Ridge fired a 307 Thursday at Foxford Hills Golf Club in Cary to open the season with a victory in the 2017 Cary-Grove Invitational.
The Wolves posted the top three scores to best Crystal Lake South's 322. Lake Zurich finished two shots ahead of the host Trojans with a 351 for third place. Zion-Benton (389) came in fifth and Crystal Lake Central (404) rounded out the field.
Prairie Ridge's Cameron Karney carded an even-par 72 to edge teammate James Michaelson by four strokes for the individual title. Teammate Dominic Leli shot a 78 to tie with South's Ricky Falbo for third place. Joe Thompson rounded out Prairie Ridge's scoring with an 81.
South's John Lishchynski and Casey Hunter posted a 79 and 80, respectively, while Will Stewart carded an 85 for the Gators.
Central's Mav Edwards turned in an 82 for his team's top round, and Ben Stogis' 85 was the top score for Cary-Grove.
