To the Editor:
I know I am a little late with this, but I want to thank the following fire departments that helped save our home at
206 Hickory Nut Grove Lane in Cary the night of July 7. The house, which would have been totally destroyed, was saved due to these fire protection districts.
The Cary Fire Protection District, Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department, Wauconda Fire District and Lake Zurich Fire Department, as well as the fire departments from East Dundee, McHenry Township and Wonder Lake responded.
Barrington, Algonquin-Lake in the Hills, Barrington Countryside and Fox River Grove were already at the scene.
Also, I contacted the Cary fire department the next day, and the three firemen who suffered injuries were doing well, thank God, and expected to recover.
Once again, thanks to all of you, our home of over 30 years was saved, and we are now in the process of putting our lives back together.
