Letters to the Editor

Letter: Anyone remember World War II?

To the Editor:

When did it become a source of pride to be racist?

Our country has lost its collective mind. We literally have people flying the Nazi flag in America. We fought a war about this, remember? The whole world was involved. I’m thankful the last of my uncles who fought in that war has passed away. He would be appalled, ashamed and angry at this display. And we are German; German immigrants who came to America, then went back to fight other Germans – some our own relatives – to defend the world from this terrorism, oppression and fascism.

A torchlight parade, carrying Nazi flags, mowing down a group of pedestrians with a car – these are acts of terrorism. The call to perpetrate violence against another person because of their ethnicity or espousing the destruction or subjugation of a group of people based on their race, ethnicity, sexuality or class – this is not throwing off the cloak of “political correctness.” It is abandoning your morality.
