Kaufman wears a brace, but his knee is fully healthy. That was apparent during track and field season last spring when he qualified for state in the 4x100 relay. It has also been apparent in the early weeks of the 2017 football season.
"I was definitely more prepared for this season because I had all that time before the season started to get ready, rather than jumping into the middle of the season," Kaufman said. "I feel healthy this season. Nothing’s been bothering me."
The Rockets (2-1, 0-1 Kishwaukee River Conference) are coming off the loss to the Skyhawks last week, and face KRC foe Burlington Central on Friday. R-B is aiming for its 11th consecutive playoff appearance this season.
“I’m pretty confident in our team and I think that we can still end up doing well," Kaufman said. "It’s still early.”
